Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, submitting a price, listing as a vendor, or subscribing to a paid plan on HomeCostify, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform beyond the guest estimator.
2. What HomeCostify is
HomeCostify is a construction cost estimation tool for the Kenyan market. It generates material quantity and price-range estimates from catalog data, admin- and vendor-submitted prices, and formulas you or our templates apply to your project.
3. Estimates are not binding quotes
Every figure HomeCostify produces - materials, labor, or otherwise - is an estimate only. It is not a quotation, valuation, or guarantee of actual cost, and it is not a substitute for a site visit, a bill of quantities prepared by a licensed quantity surveyor, or a signed contractor quote. Material prices move; labor rates are typical ranges, not guaranteed rates; and 2D layouts or AI-generated concept renders are illustrative, not architectural drawings you can build from. Do not make a financing, purchasing, or construction commitment based solely on a HomeCostify estimate.
4. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password or OTP-linked phone number secure. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or subscribe to a paid plan. Guests may run the estimator without an account but cannot save estimates.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Free, Pro, and Business plans and their current pricing are shown on our Pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and processed by Paystack; we do not store your card details ourselves. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel from your billing settings. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period, except where refund is required by law. We may change plan pricing or features with reasonable notice; continued use after a price change takes effect means you accept the new price at your next renewal.
6. Vendors and leads
Vendors listed on HomeCostify are independent third parties, not our employees or agents, and "verified" status reflects only that we reviewed the information they submitted, not that we endorse their pricing, stock, or workmanship. When you request a quote or send a lead to a vendor, you are dealing directly with that vendor; HomeCostify is not a party to, and is not liable for, any resulting sale, delivery, or dispute. Vendors submitting prices for the catalog warrant that the price is genuine and current; submissions are reviewed before publication and we may reject or remove any submission at our discretion.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the project data you enter - house types, quantities, layouts, and similar. By saving an estimate you grant us a licence to store and display it back to you, to you and anyone you send a share link to, and to generate the aggregate, non-identifying statistics shown on the public site (e.g. total materials tracked). You are responsible for not uploading data you don't have the right to share, and for anything you make available through a shareable link.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to submit false material prices, scrape or bulk-extract the catalog or vendor directory outside the API's documented use, attempt to bypass subscription limits, or use the platform to harass or defraud another user or vendor. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
9. Intellectual property
The HomeCostify name, branding, and platform code are our property or that of our licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers that ownership to you; your right to use the platform is a personal, non-transferable licence for the purpose of estimating and managing your own construction projects.
10. Third-party services and AI features
Some features depend on third-party providers - Paystack for payments, and an external image-generation service for AI concept renders. Those providers have their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or output. AI-generated renders are a stylistic approximation of a layout you sketched; they are not engineering drawings and must not be used for construction, permitting, or structural decisions.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The platform is provided "as is" without warranty that estimates, prices, or vendor information are complete or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, HomeCostify is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from reliance on an estimate, a vendor transaction, or platform downtime, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
12. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, non-payment, or suspected fraud, with notice where reasonably possible.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and any dispute not resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform changes. We will update the "last updated" date below and, for material changes, notify active subscribers by email or in-app notice before the change takes effect.
